A Living Bridge
Without bias or blame, this documentary confronts our nation with an issue that not all have created, but all must help to solve: polarization. 81% of Americans believe we are more divided as a nation than ever before and hold little hope for any measure of reconciliation in the future.
With social division at an all time high, we have entered a cultural war that we, as a nation, cannot win. We politicize our debates and dehumanize any person or group that offers a difference in opinion. This current trend has created an “us” versus “them” mentality that changes neighbors into enemies based merely upon a surface understanding of what they are for or against, and never upon the deeper reasons why they think and feel as they do.
As an antidote for our dehumanization of fellow Americans, and those who call America home, A Living Bridge offers an intimately transparent look into the lives and stories of several subjects whom represent the diverse sides of issues surrounding race, immigration, and marriage.
Whether conservative or liberal, this film seeks to confront everyone with the often-ignored truth that, even though we might not always agree with the other side, we have more in common than we might think.
